The state bank charter was changed to the present National charter, and S. J. Irvine, Sr., was the first president of The Citizens National Bank of Evansburg. At the same time, the bank purchased land on the corner of Main Street at $1,810 and relocated to the current site of Citizens Evans City community office. In the same year, there was a run on banks but Citizen's remained unscathed.
